Question: Instructional/Homeschooling software or online programs which include skill assm't and grd. level plcmnt?

My teen daughter and I are interested in Homeschooling next year, but because of her learning style we think an online program or software which instructs and allows her to complete assignments on the computer would be out best bet. We live in Michigan. Does anyone know of any suitable online programs or software?

Answer: We use Switched on schoolhouse. You can take the placement tests for Language and Math on line for free Once you install the application disk, you set up your school calendar, install the subject disks, and assign the subjects to your student and your are up and running. All lessons, quizzes, and tests are done on the computer. The program grades about 90% of the work. You will only need to grade essay questions and reports.
You should know that SOS is a Bible Based curriculum so not everyone will find this curriculum will meet their needs. If you like the concept of SOS but would prefer a secular based curriculum, then check out Odysseyware. Odysseyware if the the non-religious counterpart of SOS. Basically it is identical to SOS minus the religious component. The other difference is that Odysseyware is done online, while with SOS you have the option to purchase the curriculum independently or enroll in the online academy.Hope this helps.
