Question: Enlisting in the Air Force as Homeschooled?
I am enlisting in the Air Force. I graduated with a Homeschool High School Diploma, not a GED. What is the process for homeschool graduates? Will I enlist as a Tier I or Tier II status? I have read that a new 4 year pilot program was started in 2007, is it true? I am looking for advice about the process and the treatment I would get? Any information will help. Thank you.
Answer: most home school diplomas are treated as GEDs or the equivalent. as such you are Tier 2 and will most likely NOT get in easily without 15 100 level college credits.

Question: Algebra 2 curriculum?
Does anyone know of any 12 week (or less) courses for algebra 2? I am a 10th grade homeschool student who would like to complete algebra 2 before summer (for one HS credit) because I am trying to open up my 11th grade year because I am a pre-proffesional ballerina and so I will need to dedicate more time to my training. I will be gone all summer to train at summer intensives so I wanted to get an extra credit to complete BEFORE this summer.
I have a pretty strong grasp on algebra 1 and only have a few week left in geometry - I would like to be able to have a curriculum (online or textbook) that has short (NOT time consuming), to-the-point lessons and/or lectures and doesn't have a lot of "busy work" (like if you get the concept you can move on). I only need bare-minimum content, just enough to get the credit. Does anyone know of some homeschool program that would fit my needs? Thanks much!
Answer: We love teachingtextbooks.com. It is cd based, and you can do as many lessons a day as you want. It is designed for a year of home school, but if you move through a couple lessons a day instead of one, you can do it. Check out their website to see samples.
