Question: Internet Homeschooling in Georgia?
What are the laws for internet Homeschooling in Georgia?
And is there an age limit?
Answer: Try here http://www.hslda.org/laws/default.asp?State=GA for Georgia Homeschool Laws.
If you are using a free online school, then it is a public school and it's handled just like moving to a new city. Your new school usually requests your records from your old school.

Question: Been Homeschooling all my life, should I public school? will best answer.?
Hi, bit of a long post here I think. (sorry)
Okay here goes, I'm 13, 14 in November, and at the moment I have a few (important) issues with Homeschooling.
1- is that I'm worried I'm falling a lot behind, I do an free online maths program and the rest is mostly done with books, without much revision, so I really really think I'm way behind others my age.
2- Is Socialization obviously, basically no friends except my siblings (two) and our mutual friend (one)
3- is.... well all the experiences you get really, I'm bored all the time at the moment, I want variety.
Thanks so much for any answers, about whether you think its a good idea, reasonable and mature answers please, and if you think I should keep Homeschooling any ways I could catch up a lot? and get more friends?
Oh and Is there any websites I can actually check which grade I would get into by my skill level? with each subject.
Thanks so much!

Answer: Most homeschoolers' skills are much advanced compared to public schooled kids of the same age. I wouldn't worry about that.
You might want to look at http://www.worldbook.com at their "typical course of study" lists to see what students at particular grade levels tend to study. That might help reassure you.
Or take a standardized test. There are sites that will sell such tests to homeschool parents so that you can take the test and get a clearer idea of how you are doing.
Most adults have only a few close friends. So, three friends isn't necessarily a problem. But if you want more, I'd skip the idea of going to school and look for opportunities that exist around you. Have you searched for a homeschool support group (try looking on Yahoo! Groups)? Or look for a club or organization to join--many operate outside of schools, such as 4-H or community center groups, or clubs mostly geared to adults that will let interested teens join. Or find a hobby and then look for a group of others interested in the same thing. Or volunteer somewhere. Or get yourself a job--run errands, mow lawns, babysit, tutor a younger child, visit shut-ins in a nursing home, or whatever works for you.
Going to public school just to be around other kids and assure yourself of your level of knowledge doesn't seem like a good idea to me. But that's because I've worked in enough schools to know that I wouldn't want to push someone into one if they were getting an education some other way....
