Question: Homeschool - IB...Correspondence overseas?? Please HELP!!!?
I am 15 & from New Zealand - next year my family is thinking of spending 6 months in France - the International Baccalaureate programme is one I would be keen to take because I can continue it when we come back into New Zealand...
BUT!!!!!
There are no schools in the village that speak english or offer the IB Diploma Programme!!
So....
What are the other options,
-Correspondence??
-Homeschooling?
-Another Programme?
-Tutor?
Any help would be fabulous!!!! I NEED EVEN JUST A WEBSITE for tips - my education is so important and I really want to get into a great university!!
Thanks!!!
Answer: How about a boarding school which offers the programm. I've been in a boading school in The Netherlands where I just finnished IB. I'm sure there must be more schools like that. you might want to concider it! personally I don't think Homeschooling IB will work because it is so broad! one person cannot edjucate all subjects with the huge syllabus which you find in almost every subject. so you really need good teachers in order for you to pass. good luck with it

Question: Homeschool math and language arts help needed?
What homeschool math and language arts programs do you use and why.We are using abeka dvd program2 for out fifth grader.its great but very expensive.I like the fact that the math and language teachers are there(math is not my strongpoint)is there anything as good but less expensive? Thank you
Answer: You might want to check out http://www.homeschoolreviews.com The website lists all sorts of curriculum, with homeschoolers telling what they do (or don't) like about it.
Personally, we're currently using Saxon math. We use a variety of materials, including a lot of books from the public library for history and science and reading. We have some free "off adoption" books from the local public schools (old stuff they were getting rid of), and basically do our own thing. It's much, much cheaper....
