Question: Is there any way I can switch to homeschool right now instead of wait until 2nd Semester?
My mom n I already agreed, and yes we read the law in hslda and everything, only thing is that I asked before and people said yes, you can switch at any given time because 1 said that they switched a little later then half a semester to home school, but i got a call saying something about my enrollment for 2nd semester 2nd of February.. so I am just wondering how do you switch right now instead of waiting another 2 months?
I currently lived in California enrolled in a public school..n my mom gave them a call back n asked if I cud switch now for k12 they said no, id have to wait, so im wondering if there is any other homeschool program i can switch to
Answer: If your mom called Caliva (also known as CAVA), in order to switch you to their online charter school and get the K12 curriculum for free, yes, you have to wait.
CAVA is a public school, and you are subject to all the rules and regulations of any California public school.
If, on the other hand, you file a Private School Affidavit (PSA), you can start immediately.

All the best.
