Question: Is it illegal to homeschool foster children in Oklahoma?
Is there any law in Oklahoma that would prevent me from Homeschooling my foster daughter (or placing her in private school)? I don't want to ask DHS because they are typically anti-Homeschooling anyway and might say I can't do it even if there is no actual law saying so. I read the contract between us and DHS and it never says anything about education except that we are supposed to keep her school records. So if anyone has any information about this or can tell me where to look for answers, that would be awesome. Thanks!
Answer: I am not sure about the laws in Oklahoma. I know that the law in SC allows you to homeschool a foster child.
I would suggest your checking with HSLDA, or asking homeschoolers in a local support group as they may know.
I am sorry you got so many ignorant answers. I actually think Homeschooling is good for foster children!
