Question: Homeschool Graduation?
Homeschoolers, if you're graduating soon or if you already have graduated, what was your graduation like? Did you attend a ceremony? Or did you do something different? Did you have a party or an open house? What was it like?
I'm graduating this December, and we'd like to do something completley individualized and unique, so we're looking for ideas.
Answer: I don't have one graduating, but I have friends who recently graduated their kids. Most of the kids did a group ceremony in which they each had the opportunity to make a display with their achievements and interests (which was very cool), but one of them, a concert pianist, held an incredible recital. He prepared pieces for a formal event, they had a slide show of him growing up, and had scrapbooks or memorabilia to view of different things that he had been involved in. He gave a graduation speech and his father officiated, with both parents awarding his diploma. It was really quite an incredible ceremony!
They had a reception and invited family, friends, instructors and Scout leaders (he's an Eagle), and people who had a part in teaching him throughout his life.
I don't know if there's anything in there that you can use, but hopefully something sparks your imagination?
Early congrats by the way!

Question: Urgent reply needed before post office closes today March 14, 2008?
I enrolled my daughter into Abeka Homeschool (Fully accredited, graduation diploma and transcripts for college will be supplied), yesturday and need to notify the school immediately of our intent to withdraw from public school. I joined HSLDA yesturday but can not log in to get a sample letter, there is a waiting period to recieve your membership number. I need a withdrawal letter for Massachusetts to send certified return reciept today and need ideas on how to write it! Hoping for some answers before I run off to the post office before 4pm... :9) Thankyou!
Answer: Unfortunately I could not find a link to any specific 'intent to withdraw' forms, but I found a list of Mass. homeschoolers with telephone numbers. You might be able call one and get an idea of where to look or what to write yourself.
