Question: Homeschooling help?
whats the age requirement to stop Homeschooling in PA?
Answer: http://www.hslda.org/laws/analysis/Pennsylvania.pdf
Here is a link to a pdf legal analysis doc on the education and Homeschooling Laws in PA. The compulsory ages are between 8 and 17 years.
If the student has completed graduation requirements prior to the age of 17, they should be able to continue Homeschooling high school at a local community college. This way, they satisfy the compulsory age law and gain college credits at the same time.

Question: Homeschooling...how does it work?
I'm a student in Florida and I am seriously considering Homeschooling starting next year (10th grade). It's kind of unclear to me how graduation works, what kind of diplomas you get,and the requirements to be considered graduated? I plan to use FLVS as my educator so if someone can help me out who knows about Homeschooling it would be greatly appreciated!
Answer: I homeschool in Florida but we don't use FLVS. We just read, write, discuss, go to theater, pursue things that interest us by volunteering or taking classes or surfing the internet... a very relaxed "life-is-learning, learning-is-life" approach.
Normally you wouldn't get a diploma from anywhere when Homeschooling unless you went through an umbrella school. Or your parents would print up a diploma for you.
Remember that a diploma is simply a symbol, a certificate, saying you finished your course of education. It's just something to hang on the wall.
My daughter graduated the summer before she turned 18. Basically graduation means we all decided she finished her high school level studies. Not that it changed much, she was already taking college courses and kept going on with a lot of the same activities.
There are Homeschooling co-ops and support groups that will have recognition ceremonies or graduations, even proms. Or sometimes you just get together with a bunch of your friends and family and go out to dinner or have a pool party.
Try to read "The Teenage Liberation Handbook," I think it's by Grace Llewellyn.
