Question: Can I do the Texas Homeschooling program abroad?
I want to homeschool my child through the Texas system as I am originally from Dallas, Texas. However, I live abroad now in Egypt, am I still able to homeschool my daughter here in Egypt using the Texas Homeschooling process?
Answer: If you maintain a residence/address in Texas while you're in Egypt temporarily, you can rightly state that you are still a US resident there. However, if you are a permanent resident of Egypt, you will have to comply with Egyptian law at all times. Since Texas law says you don't have to do anything but notify them that you're Homeschooling and don't have to show them records or send in test results or have any kind of documentation at all, it doesn't take much to "be in compliance with Texas law." There's no "through the Texas system" there....
