Question: ATTENTION Kindergarten Teachers What kindergarten Teacher Manual do you use for lesson plans and as a guide?
I'm Homeschooling Kindergarten and I'm looking for lesson plans as well as activities. (arts and crafts etc.)
Basically I would like to know what most of you will be working on this quarter. thx
Answer: I don't know much about Kindergarten curriculum, but I would certainly think that your local school district would have a scope and sequence/curriculum guide available for you to consult for your Home Schooling use. You might ask your local home school group if someone has what you need, too.
You might also check with your state education agency, because even home schooled students must meet certain curricular requirements each year in order to be promoted to the next grade, etc. A phone call to that agency should also get you the information you need. You might also look at their website. I know Texas has quite an extensive curriculum guide, and since it is a public agency, anyone can access it.
Good luck!

Question: What requirements do Montessori teachers need to homeschool in FL?
I am a Montessori Certified teacher I am interested in Homeschooling are there any requirements that I will need to homeschool in Fl?
Answer: Any parent can homeschool in FL. The rules do not differ based upon educational level. The only difference would be that if you are certified by the state of FL in some academic subject in some grade level from k to 12th grade, then you could do your child's own evaluations; if you don't have that paperwork, you'll have to find an evaluator once a year.
To homeschool in FL, send in a "letter of intent" telling the local school district of your intention to homeschool a school-aged child; give the child's name and birthdate, your address and a parent's signature. Then you are officially Homeschooling. You are expected to keep a portfolio of records and turn in an evaluation (can be a standardized test or a portfolio review by a state certified teacher, as mentioned above).
Good luck.
