Question: I need a homeschool, teacher led curriculum?

Money being no object, does anyone know of an accredited home based - good- curriculum?
Like I said, money is no object. For Grade 6. other thank k12 (i know that one). P.S.- I live in NJ but a private one is great.

Answer: Not sure if it's what you're looking for, but I love www.time4learning.com for my 2nd grader. It's $20 a month and is great. You should check it out. It's web based and has hundreds of lessons, and keeps track of your child's work and tests.

Question: Homeschooling...kind of...

I would like to start something similar to Homeschooling, but for a group of 6-10 students whose parents have expressed deep interest in something like this...according to NC homeschool law, however, you can only legally have kids of two families/households per homeschool. What ideas do you guys have so we're able to work this out? I was thinking maybe getting certified as a 'private' school, but I don't know if that is the correct approach or if there were any other alternatives. Thanks!
This would also be a church school...does anyone know where to find info about NC's church school laws?

Answer: I am going by the information you provided, as I am not familiar with NC laws. This is only correct if the information I interpreted you to give is correct.

You could have two different groups, say your children and the children from another family in group 1 and then in group 2, an assistant with her children and the children from another family. You could then get together as often as you wished for lessons and activities, but they would legally be two separate groups (and have documentation showing such).

There is a lot to do in order to be certified as a private school, from business license to insurance, to safety and fire inspections, to having formal objectives, curriculum plans, etc. The first route would definitely be the less stressful and restrictive of the two.

EDITED TO ADD: A church/Christian school would still be a private school, and have to abide by the laws of said private schools.
