Summer Homeschooling Curriculum
![]() |

Question: When you homeschool, does the state give you the curriculum that they're going to use on the state tests?
Or do you just have to teach your child everything in the books to make sure you've covered what is on the tests? I've heard that teachers see all the questions on the state tests and teach their students all of the info covered by the tests.
How do you start Homeschooling?
And do the homeschooled kids get summer vacations?
Answer: (1) Not all states require yearly testing. Find your state's laws here: http://Homeschooling.gomilpitas.com/directory/Legalities.htm
Unless your child is required to take a yearly test, I would strongly urge you to ignore so-called "state standards" and decide for your family what an education involves. You an then devise a curriculum based on your definition of "educated"http://Homeschooling.gomilpitas.com/extras/Search.htm?domains=Homeschooling.gomilpitas.com&q=curriculum&sitesearch=Homeschooling.gomilpitas.com&sa=Google+Search&client=pub-7097328014038480&forid=1&oe=ISO-8859-1&safe=active&flav=0000&sig=tdOkoOerdrpb1U_b&cof=GALT%3A%23000066%3BGL%3A1%3BDIV%3A%2399D1D2%3BVLC%3ACC3333%3BAH%3Acenter%3BBGC%3AFFFFFF%3BLBGC%3A99D1D2%3BALC%3A000066%3BLC%3A000066%3BT%3A000000%3BGFNT%3A000066%3BGIMP%3A000066%3BLH%3A50%3BLW%3A50%3BL%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fhomeschooling.gomilpitas.com%2Fgraphics%2FAZHCclear.jpg%3BS%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fhomeschooling.gomilpitas.com%3BFORID%3A11&hl=en
The best way to begin Homeschooling is to make sure you are in compliance with your state's laws.
(2) We take vacations whenever we feel like a vacation. In the middle of September we are going to a "Not Back To School Party" with about 1000 other homeschoolers - at Disneyland.
All the best.
