Question: How to grade high school homeschool composition assignments?
My child is in 11th grade and the emphasis this year in the curriculum we use for English is on composition. Now, I was never an English major so how should I grade the composition assignments? Is there any resources online, should I hire a tutor? Basically I need someone who will evaluate the compositions and give advice, correct errors, etc. I'm sure that I can do a satisfactory job in evaluating the papers for a grade but my child really enjoys writing and literature and wants to make sure that their compositions are the best that they can be.
Answer: Check into The Institute for Excellence in Writing. They have various programs to improve student writing that are almost self-checking, but really work.
