Question: college paper...?
hey,
so im a college freshmen in my second semester..and i have to do this big research paper for my College Rhetoric class (basically english) and the paper is supposed to be an argumentative/persuasive and my professor does not want us writting our paper on the follwing topics:
ABORTION,AIDS,CLONING,DRUG-ALCOHOL ABUSE/PREVENTION,GUN CONTROL,STEM STELL RESEARCH,TV VIOLENCE,VIOLENCE,EATING DISORDERS,ABUSE,CAPITAL PUNISHMENT,DIVORCE,EUTHANASIA,Homeschooling,TEEN PREGNANCY,VIDEO GAMES,THE WAR IN IRAQ, AND TERRORISM.
So I was really thinking about doing a paper on the holocaust, but how do i make it arguementative/persuasive and also where i can find alot of information about it. Or if you have any other suggestions on what I should write my paper on that would be argumentative/persuasive it would be highy appreciated! Thank you.
Answer: The Holocaust wouldn't be such a great idea because, as someone mentioned above, it's pretty much one sided. Unless you're willing to take the challenge of persuading others to think otherwise, it's pretty much a given. I'd suggest choosing something with a bit of controversy, such as Female Genital Mutilation(FGM) in the Muslim or African communities. There's definitely two sides to that topic; those who practice it and those who are opposed to it. It's a harsh topic, but it's one most students rarely dabble in. And I'm sure it's one you could become passionate about, which will only make your paper that much better.
