Question: Some questions about ECOT Homeschooling?
I go to school through ECOT (Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow). It's a online school where you earn a diploma when you graduate. It has the same traditional things a regular school such as graduation ceremony, parent/teacher conferences, prom and state testing. Is ECOT considered Homeschooling or an online public school.? Also I have a 4.0 GPA in ECOT and am criticized because people think oh it's Homeschooling and it's so easy to get A's. So not true I work very hard to get my 4.0 just as I did when I went to public school. Is ECOT as credible academically as a public school would be when it comes to colleges viewing your applications?
Answer: ECOT is a public school. It must meet the same state guidelines that your old school meets. Your classes are aligned to the same state standards and you have to pass the same OGT as a regular school. The only difference is that instead of sitting in a classroom listening to a teacher, you are able to get your lessons over a computer. You correspond with your teacher through email or telephone. Colleges know that ECOT must meet the same standards as any other public school in Ohio.
ECOT is not Homeschooling. ECOT is an online public school.
