Question: I can't believe this is happening!!?
My dad wants to move to Tennessee and have farm animals oh my! We're city people, we live in a subdivision! I just don't know how to handle this. It took me a while to even start getting used to this place, almost half my life already, and now dad wants to move again! Dad wants to move there because of taxes, Homeschool Laws, the East coast, all the nearby landmarks, the weather. BUT I DON"T WANT TO LEAVE!
I recently made the connection that Dad is studying for this huge ginormous test to get a better job where his location doesn't matter. Rodney told my dad that he could live in Walla Walla Washington for all he cared. What the heck?! WHY! ME!
P.S. I know that a lot of people are going to insult me for this posting, so i'm gonna ask you before hand to not mention it if your gonna be mean. PLEASE UNDERSTAND
Answer: I lived in a big city until I was twelve and my parents moved me literally across the country (Alaska to Maine) to live on a huge farm. I was stunned. But I had things many kids living a city life did not have, I had a horse, a huge yard, we had a pool and acres and acres to call home. I learned things living on a farm that I have appreciation for as an adult. I have a greater understanding of life, and the down to earth approach of the other "farmers" in the area rubbed off on me. I still have horses now. I did move away @ 18, and then at 30 missed country life enough that I bought a home in the country myself. I won't kid you, it is a lifestyle you will either love or hate, but it is a learning experience

Answer: I did Home School in Utah from 2nd grade till 9th. Basically as far as I know, the state needs to know where all kids are going to school. So you'll need to go the the county and "register" as Home schooled. Then as far as what you need to learn, you can google different cirriculum, and find out what your school class will be learning for the year. There are a bunch of different companies that have work books. On a more personal note, the great thing about Home School, is that you can learn as much and as fast as you want to.No boundaries! I think you'd just get a GED unless you take one or two classes at the High School and then take an end of year test each year. Good Luck! Oh, I almost forgot, In Utah and Idaho, they have Home School Groups! You can join one and do all sorts of things with them like field trips and plays and all.
