Question: Homeschooling HELP???plz?
i really need help i am going to put my daughter in homeschool. (9th grader) I need an online program but i have been looking some up but the tuition is so expensive. i really need help b/c i thought everthing would be easy so i withdrew her from school n now i cant figure out what to do!
I heard of just going to the library and asking for a curriculum or something like that but does that really work i mean she was failing so thats the reason i want her to be homeschooled.
We live in Texas and like i said i really need help fast.
all i want is for it to be affordable and something that will improve her grades. i know i wrote alot but im freaken out i dont want her to be out of school for long.
Answer: Home Schooling is never easy. It is actually very hard work. Whether you enroll your daughter in an online school or do something at home, you will need to at least take a supervisory role and make sure that her work is getting done.
You can create your own curriculum from materials at the library, but that means that you will have to write lesson plans, maintain records so that you can create a transcript, and, if she graduates through homeschool, issue a diploma.
Homeschooling would also require that your daughter, excercises self discipline and gets her work done in a timely manner, especially if you are not going to be with her during the day.
It's not really Homeschooling, but you could check with your local school district, to see if there are any online charter schools available in your state. Online Charter Schools are public schools which offer home study programs. I know that K-12 is one such program.
