homeschool programs in texas
Question: Homeschooling HELP???plz?

i really need help i am going to put my daughter in homeschool. (9th grader) I need an online program but i have been looking some up but the tuition is so expensive. i really need help b/c i thought everthing would be easy so i withdrew her from school n now i cant figure out what to do!

I heard of just going to the library and asking for a curriculum or something like that but does that really work i mean she was failing so thats the reason i want her to be homeschooled.

We live in Texas and like i said i really need help fast.

all i want is for it to be affordable and something that will improve her grades. i know i wrote alot but im freaken out i dont want her to be out of school for long.
:D

Answer: Home Schooling is never easy. It is actually very hard work. Whether you enroll your daughter in an online school or do something at home, you will need to at least take a supervisory role and make sure that her work is getting done.

You can create your own curriculum from materials at the library, but that means that you will have to write lesson plans, maintain records so that you can create a transcript, and, if she graduates through homeschool, issue a diploma.

Homeschooling would also require that your daughter, excercises self discipline and gets her work done in a timely manner, especially if you are not going to be with her during the day.

It's not really Homeschooling, but you could check with your local school district, to see if there are any online charter schools available in your state. Online Charter Schools are public schools which offer home study programs. I know that K-12 is one such program.

Question: Homeschooling ... in UK?

can you home school in uk and if so is there any laws about it? i am just wondering because i have heard a few mum's talking about home school and wondering if its a good idea or not, my son is not even 1 yet but looking for ideas for the best possible education for him and the public schools around my area have a high rate of bulling and much more... i know these can't be avoided forever but surely for a short period this could not do much harm? i have a huge family and not worried about my son social development as he has cousins and his auntie are the same age as him...? any legal advice on this matter would be great, but please don't comment if your going to be rude!

Answer: As a teacher myself I am pretty sure that if and when I have children myself I will home school them. I've worked in some very good schools but there are still always issues such as the work pace being either too slow or too fast for a certain child - at home with your own child you can go at his/her pace all the time. Also, I think behaviour is getting worse and the bad language that comes out of the mouths of 5 year olds these days is unbelievable, so I would like to give my own children a few more years of 'innocence' away from influences over language and behaviour. Plus, you don't have to be so regimented - to take your own child on an educational visit you don't have to worry about things such as risk assessments and permission slips, you can just go when the mood takes you. And you don't have to stick to your lessons. In a school the teachers will try to tailor lessons to children's interests, but some topics will be followed whether the child (and teacher) wants them to be or not. At home, if something interests your child you can go with that for as long as you like before moving on to another topic.
