Question: Homeschooling diploma?

I am trying to find out if I can get a diploma for Homeschooling in Texas at age 17?
I have completed all of my classes but I dont want to get a diploma and then have to go back to school until I am 18.
Please help!!

Answer: Yes. At 17, you can get your diploma and leave school in Texas:

“A child who is at least six years of age, or who is younger than six years of age and has previously been enrolled in first grade, and who has not yet reached the child's 18th birthday shall attend school. A child 17 years of age who has been issued an equivalency certificate is exempt." Texas Educ. Code Ann. § 25.085(b).
