California Homeschool Curriculum
![]() |

Question: Can my mom homeschool me?
I'm a sophmore in highschool right now. I hate school becuase I'm the kind of person who learns better with one-on-one interaction, but my classes are so large. I am currently in AP and honors classes, and doing fairly well at them. My teachers do nothing to help my grades, and at this point i will do anything to not fail.
My mom isn't a certified teacher or anything, but she is extremely intelligent. I know that i have to follow a certain curriculum, but that wont be a problem at all. Could my mom homeschool me?
i live in california.
can i leave my current public school eeven though its the middle of the year?
also, do how do i go about getting out of my current school, and will they let me?
thank you soo much everyone.
and sorry this is so long.
Answer: I just started Home Schooling my kids this year. It was a simple process. I even took my youngest out of public school just last month. Rules vary from state to state, but your mom would probably just need to submit an intent to homeschool letter, and provide evidence of some sort of curriculum (at least that is what I has to do in Va)
