Question: How do I START the process of Homeschooling?
I am considering homeschooling my fifth grade child and I am not sure how to start the process. I have read the statutes and laws concerning homeschooling in our state (SC) and know I need to join a homeschooling association but do I need to join the association and just send a "notice" to the school. Is that something the association will do as soon as I join? I have searched and searched the web to no avail for this answer. Thanks in advance or your help.

Answer: Perhaps you should go to their website and see which membership option works for you: http://www.scaihs.org/scaihs_application.htm They should be able to answer all of your questions.
From the hslda.org website, it looks like you have to belong to this group, however, I could be wrong. Maybe you should pose this question specifically to homeschoolers in the state of South Carolina and hope someone more knowledgeable will respond.
