Question: What books can i get from the library for an advanced 8th grade homeschool student?

Next year i am taking algebra 1, honors chemistry, grammar and composition, psychology, fitness for life, and spanish from keystone national highschool,
i plan to get a DVM in Veterinary Medicine and i just need to prepare for the 9th grade.
I love writing and reading, i'm not to good at math and am ok in grammar.
What are some appropriate books that can help me expand my knowlage and help me prepare for highschool? (My state has no homeschool testing or record keeping laws)

ps i am a straight A student and learn completely independant excep my mom helps me with math and grammar when i need it.

I read half of tom sayor adventures of huckleberry fin easily until my mom relized that it had bad language and made me stop reading it...
Also what are some interesting books to read in my spare time? I love animals especially cats, dogs, and horses, The Harry Potter and Eragon series are my favorite books. Any suggestions?

Answer: well since your mom blocks out such good books because of the language it really narrows your chances of finding a really good book. for some reason most interesting books or books that deal with tough subjects have curse words in them.

however i would recomend "the outsiders" i believe its by s.e hinten or something i could be totaly off. antother good book is "to kill a mockingbird" it drops some foul language like the n word but trust me its a wonderful book and very thought provoking. i found both of these books very interesting.

I am in grade 11 in Canada and these are books i read in grade nine and ten. i do have a book that i read just this year and i bet you would be able to understand it because of the way you write it really shows that you are a smart student. the book i read was regeneration the author again i am unsure of because i read it a couple of months ago but it has a lot of things that will make you think and some of it is based on true history. i would start with the outsiders first because its a book i read in grade nine and as you read the books get a little more complicated you can then judge as to how well you will understand them.
