But how do I register?

Answer: I would suggest joining one of your state wide or local Homeschooling support groups (an inclusive one if you can). Here is a page with lots of information about that:

Homeschoolers who have to abide by state laws are notoriously keen on knowing exactly what to do be in compliance. Educational officials - not always so much.
