i am thinking of taking my child out of boarding school and Homeschooling her cause her father just got out of the army and we are done moving around and i want my child home. We took her out because she was tired of moving around making new friends and stuff so we asked her if she would like to go to boarding school and she said yes..long story short shes in boarding school and i miss my little girl and i want her home so what are the laws. thankss for the help.
Answer: I know some about the Homeschooling Laws in West Virginia, but I'm not sure about Ohio's laws. In West Virginia, homeschoolers are monitored somewhat moderately. Parents have to write a letter of intent to homeschool their child each year and send it to the Board of Education in the particular county where the child resides and is being homeschooled. Kids also have to demonstrate improvement over the year in so many particular subjects by means of a thorough portfolio evaluation or simply being tested like the public schooled kids are once a year. Kids also must receive 180 days of instruction (like the kids who attend public school).
Parents arrested for for home-schooling.
