Question: Q for Homeschool Moms and Teen Girls?
My daughter and I will be hosting a small group for homeschooled teen girls. Some get-togethers we will have at our home but we want to plan some fun outings, too.
What ideas can you share for breaking the ice with this age group? We personally don't know any of the other girls yet, but a few of them do know each other.
We have tons of games, which will allow them to engage socially, and also videos, but that won't necessarily allow them to get to know each other better.
Answer: have the game: Guess who is it?
everyone writes on an index card something about themselves. a favorite food, an award, something they dislike, something that they think is unique about themselves. then put their name at the bottom of the card.
when all are done, the host girl collects them, and starts reading one by one. after each one they all try to guess who that person is. it is a fun game that after a few cards, it will bring out lots of giggles and curiosity. after that they will sure find something in common and talk about it.
