Question: PLEASE ANSWER!!!Homeschool Curriculum for a child with a nonverbal learning disorder?
I posted this earlier and only got one answer....
Is there a curriculum designed for a NLD child? If not what is a good curriculum for children with this disorder?
Thank You
Answer: http://www.nldontheweb.org/Homeschooling.htm This site also has a forum you may be able to ask. I was thinking maybe a classical or discussion based approach. This is the first time I've even heard of the LD. There is also a HS+Plus yahoo group that may help.
It sounds like most make there own curriculum. Depending on your state you may want to look into a math programs that are word problems and associate the symbol with the word. A lot of curriculum is homemade to suit the child's needs. This year alone I have gone through 7 math curriculum and have yet to find one that works for him.
I'll keep researching and see if I can find anything. Could you say how it affects your child's learning? how old your child is? maybe I'll be able to help you figure out something that way.
How do I choose curriculum?

Question: In the state of texas, if I homeschool my 18 yr old is she still considered enrolled in school?
the law says we as parents are still responsible for our 18 yr old cuz she is in school still. She is a junior. I'd like to homeschool and help her get her GED/Diploma sooner.
Answer: Check with the Home School Legal Defense Association (hslda.org) they should be able to help you out with your question.
